sad day....

Well, woke up this morning to find Lizzie AWOL. Somehow the door to her habitat was open, yet everything still intact & upright (kinda rules out Callie or any other feline mischief). Some of her treat containers were knocked off shelf & in the floor, but no real disarray. :-( Immediately began search & rescue, watching kitties closely for an signs of recognition or interest. None. She was not in her room, the Dragon's Den, the small bathroom or the living room. Finally came upon her still, tiny, lifeless form under the back corner of the kitchen table, right by the backside of the fridge. She did not appear to be chewed on (so cat's are outta the doghouse) so no known cause of death. Amaxing how big she seems in death...always thought she was so tiny when I was holding her in my hands. Burial services will be Saturday night, with the full moon... new beginnings for her next life. Rest in Peace, Lizzie... you are loved....

Miracles, Year & A Day

Well, started on "Wicca: Year & A Day" yesterday, fitting as it is the 1st day of our new year. Will be a 366 day trip, which I am doing in conjuction with "A Course in Miracles" . Both are meant to be enlightening & educational (for me) and about finding true power in true self. Both will involve some work, some time, some introspection. Spirit & I are also embarking in getting into better physical shape as a part of this growth process. The shell must be able to contain the spirit in a healthy manner.

We are the Witches

today's song ... fitting for Hallowmas (chorus qouted here) We are the flow, we are the ebb We are the weavers, we are the web We are the flow, we are the ebb We are the witches back from the dead See me, I am life and it's your birthright to walk proud and strong Come dance with the tide We've been there before And we shall return for now and evermore now and evermore... We are the flow, we are the ebb We are the weavers, we are the web We are the flow, we are the ebb We are the witches back from the dead

a definition...ok several

Wicca , or Witchcraft, is an earth religion -- a re-linking (re-ligio) with the life-force of nature, both on this planet and in the stars and space beyond. In city apartments, in suburban backyards, in country glades, groups of women and men meet on the new and full moons and at festival times to raise energy and put themselves in tune with these natural forces. They honor the old Goddesses and Gods, including the Triple Goddess of the waxing, full, and waning moon, and the Horned God of the sun and animal life, as visualizations of immanent nature. Paganism is a spiritual way of life which has its roots in the ancient nature religions of the world. It is principally rooted in the old religions of Europe, though many adherents also find great worth in the indigenous beliefs of other countries. We celebrate the sanctity of Nature, recognising the Divine in all things; the vast, unknowable spirit that runs through the universe, both seen and unseen. Okay, I was going to stop at the two

Witch's New Year, plus a few

Samhain (pronounced sow-in) (October 31st -Nov 1st) also known as: Halloween, ShadowFest, Martinmas, Old Hallowmas Samhain is "The Last Harvest", preceded by Lammas and Mabon. The Earth nods a sad farewell to the God. We know that He will once again be reborn of the Goddess and the cycle will continue. This is the time of reflection, the time to honor the Ancients who have gone on before us and the time of 'Seeing" (divination). As we contemplate the Wheel of the Year, we come to recognize our own part in the eternal cycle of Life. And, with it being our New Year, let me enlighten those who may be unaware as to what the REST of our holidays are, along with the history and origins of four of the most common Christian American holidays. Wiccans call the eight festivals Sabbats, all of which fall on the solstices, equinoxes, and four other intermediate dates. The solstices and equinoxes are widely known as Quarter days ; the four dates falling between them are t

Monday arrives :-(

Well, campout weekend was a blast, except for the freezing my ass off part. Sigh. So much fun, Spirit is going to help co-plan it with this year's planner! So we'll be there again October 26-28 of 2007. We DO believe in planning ahead, you know. Peace came over Saturday to learn how to feed the dragons so she could do it by herself for us while we were still at campout. She did a great job. Kept her son for a while so she could study a bit, then we went shopping (had to lay in this weeks greens and yougurt, cat food, etc). Got the Magical Writings swap completed. Gotta get everything ready for tomorrows Samhain Circle, including clothing as I will be going straight there from work Tuesday. Ugh.
