TGIF 4:25pm!!

Woohoo.... FRIDAY!! Me and Elizabeth in the office, Kid Rock's 'American Badass' playing on the CPU. ..and about half an hour to go until the WEEKEND!!! No call back from doc yet about doing some blood tests... am kinda of the mind (even being uninsured) of finding out what is going on. Spirit is headed home, had to hit HEB for the fixin's for tomorrow's annual company fishfry @ Camp Ben. I volunteered to bring lemons and iced tea...you know I can't cook!! I also volunteered Spirit for the tartar sauce and famous triple chocolate brownies. Texas Reptile Show starts 9am in San Antonio not TOO far from home, so we are going to try to squeeze that in before Camp Ben. Oh, and I just tallied my art... just on Nness alone I have 8 (of 12) swaps still open (meaning I owe something to somoene). On the Yahoo groups, I think I have another 6-8 still open. EEEEEKKKKK Do not know how that got so carried away so fast, other than I really enjoy sitting at my table and

Almost there....

It is ALMOST Friday... 4 more hours here, 9 hours tomorrow, then FREE!! Still concerned about the weight gain. Spoke w/asst at doc's office, gave her a bit more information.. . like always being cold, having dry skin, brittle nails, tired all the damn time (dozed off twice coming to work...it is getting scary!) and then of course the damn weight gain..She asked if I drank a lot of sodas as they can cause a sneaky weight gain. Nope... I drink unsweet iced tea or coffee w/soymilk & Splenda sugar free syrups. Or the old standby, water. I did mention the fact that I had gestational diabetes when pregnant w/Rebel...but that was 20 years ago. So maybe a thyroid issue? maybe an insulin resistance issue? Who knows... all I know is that I am uninsured (yes, a lot of us are in today's climate) and that cost may well become an issue as well. Bad enough right now that my pain meds are at the pharmacy and I can't bail them out of just yet... little suckers are $275!! Will def

Like Spirit says...

Wednesday means another day closer to the weekend. Missed my homegroup last night... sore from my shot @ doc visit. And sad. Gained weight from when I was there 11 weeks ago... Doc is thinking about testing my thyroid, more on that later. On the plus side, met a guy @ the pharmacy that is interested in reptile (lizard) rescue. Has a snake already. So I will keep him in mind for the next one that locates us. Just a blah kinda day..the weight thing really has me down and I have signed up for some art swaps I'd really rather be doing... but work calls... alas...

Memorial Service

Lizzie's Memorial Service was a small event attended by family only on the Nov 5th 2006 Full Moon. Be well, and may your next life hold even more adventure! You will be missed.

wheeee

Well, almost 2pm, which is my "outta here time" today. Have a doc appointment in A-Town at 3pm...gotta allow for traffic. Then meetup w/Spirit in town for some coffee, head on home. Ooops, gotta stop @ WallyWorld...dammit...forgot to go last night for Spirits meds. And we need greens for the dragons. Good thing it is right on the way. No pics yet...promise soon!!

Furries, not Furies

Here is a pic of one... they are about the size of a standard marshmallow... fits in a teaspoon.

and so it begins...

Well, the full moon burial was small but heartfelt for Lizzie. She was laid to rest with all her favorite treats, some water and wooden nibbles, placed under the zinnias with a fossilized shell for a headstone and a guardian frog nearby. Spirit & I spoke about it, and decided to go look for hamsters needing a home. We thought getting 2 would be better so they could keep each other company... but when we went looking, there were no social hamsters from the same litter,,, just singles. EXCEPT for one habitat that was home to a species called robos. Three little girls...each about the size of a large marshmallow. They met the requirements- social, same litter, small size (so all three can stay in one habitat we already have). So, we brought home "The Furries"... this is a play on words. Furies: Avenging spirits; Alecto, Megaera, and Tisiphone; known also as Erinyes or Eumenides. All in all, it was a very good weekend... we did art (I caught up on my Asian
